A Deeper Look at the Works Hanging in My Latest Solo Exhibition (PART ONE)

My solo show, which I’ve been calling “Hidden Feelings” has officially been hung at Central Bank of Boone County in Columbia, Missouri USA. If you live around the area, or happen to be passing through, I’d love it if you stopped by to check it out.

For those of you who are not in the area, and for those of you who would like a deeper understanding of the works hanging on the wall, I’ve put together this list of each piece and what inspired its creation.

My Spring Collection, Road Maps, Launches March 21st

I have a spring collection! This might be the first time I have an actual spring launch. In the past I’ve just winged it, but a lot has changed for me lately, in terms of focus, and this new year has been all about running my business like an actual…erm…business.

I mean…I’m even on top of all the bookkeeping y’all.

My spring collection, “Road Maps,” will officially launch on March 21st at 8am CDT. This collection is all about our existence, where we are today, who we were yesterday, who we’ll be tomorrow.

Each piece also touches on the idea of merging nature and mankind, of seeing humanity as a part of the world instead of a separate entity. To put it more bluntly, we are all earthlings.

Most of the drawings in this collection are around 5×7 inches, but there are a couple that are over 11×14, and all but one has been stained with coffee (the largest of the collection was washed with sepia watercolor ink). The actual drawing process used with these pieces was mostly intuitive/improvised, though at the very end of each work I may have made a few conscious choices, which I believe gives the drawing balance.

Those of you who are in my Amethyst tier or above on Patreon will receive a 4×6 original intuitive drawing each month that is very similar to these works. If you’d like a monthly original (completely unique!) Then head on over to my Patreon and sign up for the 10$ tier or above.

Until next time, may your road map be clear and your destination be unknown.
